Recipe: An Acai Berry Breakfast Smoothie Cocktail!


Way back, at the beginning of the year, (I say that because it’s March—can you believe it?), I shared some of the exciting new things that are going to be launched here over the next few months. Along with the shop, (I know! A MsCritique Shop! I really can’t wait to show you the products!), I revealed there are not one, but two e-books in the pipeline. I’m pleased to say that not only have they been written and shot, but they’re getting the last finishing touches put on them as I type this! Exciting stuff. It feels great to be making progress. The site, well…that’s another story altogether. 

Anyway, let’s move on! Over the course of the last six months, it’s safe to say, I have tried lots of smoothies. Today, I’m sharing an Acai Berry Smoothie recipe (pronounced ah-sigh-ee), that unfortunately didn’t make the cut—not because of the recipe, but the direction and styling changed over time and the final shots are a perfect fit for the new aesthetic. I’m so happy with the final product, but still wanted to share this recipe, because, my friends, it’s a winner!  It’s berry good. (Oh dear, sorry, sometimes, you just gotta have some pun fun.) I can’t help it!

These cocktails really are the perfect way to start the day, or even better—host a schmancy fancy breakfast. They look good, they taste good, and they even make you feel it too. Enjoy! MC

[the food] An Acai Berry Smoothie Recipe[/the food]

You’ll need:

1/2  ripe banana

1 cup of frozen mixed berries

1/2 of a cup of coconut water

1 tablespoon of acai

1 cup of ice

Chopped kiwi fruit to top!

Blend all ingredients together (add more coconut water if required) and serve.

(Makes 4 small cocktail glasses)
