Macaron, or macaroon? Let’s settle this once and for all, shall we? The delightful morsels pictured, are macarons. Macaroons, are super sweet coconutty cookies. (And just as delicious.)
Speaking of delicious, I am absolutely obsessed with anything salted caramel. It’s the sweet / salty combination, I just can’t get enough of. Not game enough to try making them from scratch, when I saw Adriano Zumbo had released a supermarket salted caramel macaron mix, I thought I’d give them whirl.
Being my first time, it was pretty easy—which surprised me. And, they even turned out better than I expected. I just need to perfect them a little more, so the shells look glossier and smoother. (Guess I’ll have to make them again. Shame, that.) Lumpy shells aside, they tasted just like store-bought ones—no word of a lie, my friends—these macarons are delicious! Now if only he’d release some crazy flavours to match the ones you can buy instore. Bacon macaron, anyone? Anyone? MC
