You might have guessed from the tumbleweeds ’round here that I’ve been away overseas. And boy, hasn’t a lot happened while I was gone! Mercedes Benz Fashion Week has been and gone. Sigh. (More on that later.) It seems that while I was gone Twitter went into overload over Tania Zaetta’s antics on Celebrity Apprentice. Which is surprising – she was absolutely lovely when I met her recently.
Speaking of Twitter, apparently there’s even an account devoted to Seal’s nails. WTF? FYI, I’m #teamseal all the way. That man is a hunk. A hunk of something. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but boy does he have it going on! Snnnaaaaap! Yes, I just licked my finger and did the ‘sizzle’ sound on an imaginery wall. I. Am. A. Sicko.
Back to Fashun Week Dahlings. I’ve loved catching up on all the street style and all the shows. We have so much talent in this country. Honestly! Equally, (and not surprisingly) I’ve loved hearing about all the off-runway antics too. From certain people being huffed about being bumped from front row (AKA being GA’d – put into general admission seating) to the loads of ‘tude being paraded around by some who shall remain nameless. Scandalous! And who said Fashion Week was boring? Certainly not me. No siree.
NOT THAT I’M NAMING NAMES OR ANYTHING.
Straight off the plane I headed to the very first Creative Morning Sydney talks, which blew my mind. Alan Crabbe from Pozible was inspiring to say the very least. I also met up with talented Sky Parlour duo and old friends Karina and Vaishali to catch a Portable talk by Susie Lau of Style Bubble fame. She is quite possibly one of the humblest bloggers I think I’ve ever met. And not only is she humble, but very clever too.
Well, little wonder I got sick! Coughing like a seal and battling the flu (shoosh you, I can hear the faux-sarcastic-violins from here) on Friday I headed to the MAC Cosmetics party at the newly opened MCA, which, by the way, is breathtaking. Marvellous. The party was held on the rooftop, which offers one of the best views of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge in Sydney. Unless you live in the Toaster Apartments, of course. In that case, you’re banned from reading this blog. Ever. Again.
It’s always interesting being in a room full of Sydney’s who’s who. From Fashion Designers, to C’lebs (that deserves an initial cap dontcha think?), it certainly is insightful to see how people really are in the flesh. From the lovely Beauty Editor that ALWAYS (without fail) goes out of her way to say hello to me – to the nameless regular on the social-page-circuit diving in front of the camera every time it came within a 10-metre radius. Not that I’m naming names or anything. Well, not today, anyway!
Oh, I’m so happy to be back, how I’ve missed you Possum! MC
It’s all about the details Darling:c
