Review: Breville Smart Kettle BKE820

You know what I hate? A dumb kettle. Does such a thing exist? Well, I didn’t think so, until I met Breville’s The Smart Kettle. This baby is the Doogie Howser of the kettle world. It has 5 pre-programmed temperature buttons that tell you exactly how how hot your tea should be (according to the type of tea).

Not only that, but it has a ‘keep warm’ setting that will keep the water hot-t-t for another 20 mins. And let’s face it, I’m always back 20 mins later for that sneaky second cup o’ tea.

The best part? It has QBT. Y’all know how much I love me an acronym. That stands for: Quiet Boil Technology. My old kettle sounded like a jet taking off in my kitchen. Only cool, if it’s private and I’m riding (with) Kanye and a case of Cristal.

I digress.

Just recently I’ve extended my tea-making repertoire to Endota’s (certified) organic peppermint tea. I just can’t get enough of that minty-I-feel-like-I-just-brushed-my-teeth-freshness.

There’s nothing like swanning around the office with a cup of my holier-than-thou ‘tude. Never mind that I just inhaled half a block of Lindt’s Strawberry Intense. What? Surely that counts as fruit? Not sure Doogie Howser would approve. MC
